As India awaits the verdict of the biggest electoral process in the world, all eyes will be glued to news channels tomorrow, the results day.
With Web streaming and smartphone video streaming on the rise, it makes sense that news channels tap into these sources to keep viewers updated on the latest happenings. YouTube and Airtel have both announced separate streaming plans in association with news channels, which will allow Indian viewers access to live results for free.
On YouTube, viewers will be able to catch all the counting day action as the company has partnered with leading broadcast news players to bring live news to users for the elections results. Users will be able to follow all the action by choosing their favorite news outlet from among IBN Live, Headlines Today, Times Now, NDTV, Boom News, Gateway House, NewsX, DD News, Rajya Sabha TV, News Laundry, TV9, Sun News, Firstpost and YouthKiAwaaz. On the dedicated portal, users can also relive some of the popular Hangouts chats with politicians, held during the run up to the election.
Airtel is opening up its Airtel Pocket with free live TV streaming for its customers. The offer is available only for May 15 and 16 for users of the iOS and Android apps.
